I.
Good morning, boys and girls! Sit down, please!
I’m glad to see you today. I hope you are doing fine and I’m sure that your work at today’s lesson will be very good. There are many ways to say “very good” in English. Look at the lists of English phrases that I’ve prepared for you. Try to describe your mood using these words. So, how are you today? … And I’m also fine today.
Well, let’s begin our lesson. The theme of our lesson today is «Let’s Save the Earth». At the lesson we’ll revise the words on the topic «Ecology» that you already know, learn a new modal verb and will try to answer the question what can help our planet to survive.

We’ll start with phonetic exercises. Now listen to me and then repeat after me all together:

Health is above wealth.

Rain on the grass,
And rain on the tree,
Rain on the house-top,
But not on me.

III. Now look at the blackboard. We live on the Earth and everything that surrounds us is called our environment. Can you translate this word?

IV. Why did I put the word «home» in the middle? Can we say that our environment is home for us? Can we say that for all people the planet is their home?
V. What kind of home would you like to have? - Beautiful, clean, happy. Exactly right! And now let’s look at our planet which is also our home. (The presentation starts).
Look how beautiful the land can be!
Let’s go on an imaginary tour around the Earth. The boy Billy will help us.
What do we see?
LAND WITHOUT TREES – translate it into Russian: земля без деревьев
NO AIR TO BREATHE – не хватает воздуха для дыхания
DANGEROUS WATERS – вода, опасная для использования
TOXIC FOOD – токсичная еда
NO FOOD FOR ANIMALS – нет еды для животных

Now open your textbooks at page 151. Let’s do exercise 4. Read the task, please. Skim the text and match the paragraphs with the titles. (Ознакомительное чтение). You have three minutes to do the task.
In the text you’ll come across the modal verb “should” which means «следует, должен». Результаты работы.
But are they really clean? We’ve seen that not always.
People’s activity sometimes has bad influence on the environment. Why are the arrows directed at the man? That’s right! The environment influences people badly.
VII. How to save the Earth? Turn to page 148. Read the task of exercise 10.
Dos and Don’ts
What should we do and what shouldn’t we do to see our Earth healthy?
Work in pairs. The students of this row will choose the statements and put them in the Dos category and the others into the Don’ts category. Write down the right sentences on the leaves or on the bricks. You may use your felt-tip pens. You have three minutes to do the task. Then we’ll check the results.

The results of the pair work. Wonderful! After the lesson when you go out of the classroom , please, stick the leaves onto the Tree of Good Deeds so that to remember that we always should follow these rules. And throw away the bricks into the basket.
IX. So, at the beginning of the lesson you told me that you want to see your home clean, healthy and happy. Look at the screen. Read the inscription: «Our home should be clean, healthy, happy and safe». If we follow the good rules we will save our planet. Let’s say all together: «Let’s save our planet!».

What is the result of our lesson? What do you think about your state of mind? Are you fine? Today at the lesson we refreshed the vocabulary on the topic «Ecology». You’ve learnt a new modal verb «should». Your home task for the next lesson will be Exercise 9, page 148. (Задание на доске) Make up 8 sentences about ecology. Do it in written form.
