В современном информационном мире владение компьютерными технологиями является абсолютно необходимым для каждого грамотного человека. Неотъемлемым компонентом компьютерной грамотности следует признать должный уровень владения определенными понятиями и терминами. По существу, речь идет об изучении специального, функционального аспекта английского языка.

Цель данного курса обучить языковым средствам для эффективного общения с компьютером; пониманию специальных научно-технических текстов в области компьютерных технологий; умению свернуть и развернуть информацию при подготовке рефератов и аннотаций на русском и английском языках.

Находясь на пересечении двух культур, технической и гуманитарной, данный курс будет способствовать как углубленному изучению английского языка, так и повышению грамотности учащихся в области информационных технологий.

Элективный курс рассчитан на учащихся старших классов-всех, кто интересуется английским языком и увлекается компьютером.
